And here's the last video from August 22's Common Good Concerts, alongside Aybil and Tom Kimmel.

Sometimes, folks ask how I know when a song is finished. I don't have a perfect answer, but I know I don't consider mine done until I've played them out several times. Live performance has a way of sanding off the rougher edges; in that moment, the song tells you what's working.

I've always hoped that my songs are versatile and sturdy enough that they support different interpretations and performance styles. On Orchid South, "Out" is a rocker. But touring solo, it's run the gamut. I've played it softer, almost approaching a ballad. Sometimes I've revved it up even more than the album, into punk territory.

This performance is somewhere in-between. I hope you enjoy \m/

(In case you missed them: "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" and "Cut Myself Shaving.")
